Hey there.....

Welcome to the home page. After months of neglect, I'm trying to work on this thing, but it's quite a project. What you see is what I could get together for a start...hopefully in the next few weeks it will get more current and complete.

Me and KimI suppose a lot of you have heard that Scott is no longer playing with me. It was a mutual decision, for different reasons, and all I can say is I have mixed emotions and sometimes things like that just happen. I hear he played drums on the freshly recorded Built to Spill record though I don't know if he's actually in the band, and he played a couple songs with Elliott Smith at a show here in Portland. I went to Australia with John Moen, Beverly Breckenridge, and Jim Kimball in the band...call it The Spinanes OZ (see the picts section). We played a bunch of shows opening for Frente, along with a band from Sydney called SPDFGH (spuh-duh-fuh-guh-huh), and then did a few shows on our own, including one in Sydney which Mr. Ben Lee opened. Quite a treat.

For now, I'm enjoying a summer vacation and playing a couple solo shows wherever I happen to be, though the Ben Harper/Morphine shows that are in Portland and Seattle at the end of August will include John and Joanna, who played on the spring US tour with us. I may do a solo tour this fall, and I'm trying to get the long delayed CD of the two IMP singles together and out. I've also been invited to contribute a cover of a Half Japanese song to an album being released in Switzerland next year. My first tribute project.

Cruising for equipment in the Oklahoma area? A bunch of stuff stolen from me on July 24, 1995 in Tulsa... if ya see it anywhere, and feel like letting me or someone at Sub Pop know.... Here is a list of what was taken, exactly as faxed to the authorities.

You can e-mail me at spinanes@subpop.com, but I tell ya, me and my friends barely get to hard mail for 3 or 4 months, and e-mail responses, well, it'll be just as long. But it is great to get mail, y'all tend to say some cool and interesting things, and whoever writes gets put on our mailing list (both hard and e) so if anything gets sent out, you'll receive it.

That's all for now. Thanks for checking in.

Rebecca
