Dear Fastbacks Fans:
It is with great sadness that after 22+ years of service, Kim Warnick has
decided to leave the Fastbacks. At this time, the last scheduled Fastbacks
show with Kim is set for March 2, in San Francisco at the Bottom of the Hill
(Noise Pop).
You may purchase tickets over the web at:
http://www.ticketweb.com/user/?region=sfbay&query=detail&event=308641
For the immediate future it is uncertain whether the band will attempt to
continue in her absence. This may possibly be their very last show EVER.
Cheers,

My harddrive crashed a couple of weeks ago. I lost all of my mailing
list entries (otherwise the above announcement would've been sent via
e-mail). Apologies for no newsletters, but with no addresses, I couldn't
very well send any messages.

- A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM KURT:
Hi All:
Kurt here, thanks for having a look at our fabulous website, hopefully all the
statistics are up-to-date, and with any luck we'll soon be allowing Jason Finn
to escape the "Mr. Three Percent" (as far as drummer credits)
moniker he's been
so upset about these last years. We have been working on new songs with Jason,
a
few of them are really ballbusters, and are taking a while to get to sounding
good.
Our next bout of live-age will be at the Crocodile Cafe in Seattle, as part of
a
two-day mini series af rock, featuring the FBX, the Young Fresh Fellows, and
their various members' spinoff bands and related projects It is to be called
"The World Of Dr. Illteams" (for obvious reasons!):

- Fastbacks have a track on the Kinks tribute CD: Give The People What We
Want (Burn Burn Burn/Sub Pop). The track in question is "Waterloo
Sunset" from the Kinks' 'Something Else' LP. It's a
stellar rendition! The CD also includes Kinks covers by The Young
Fresh Fellows, The Minus 5, and The Briefs.
- Kim is playing in another band (don't worry, she's still in the
Fastbacks) called Visqueen. Watch out for them if you live in the
Seattle area.

- Kim's bass guitar was stolen from her car today. Anyone with
information leading to the whereabouts of this instrument are strongly
encouraged to write to the site (dsharpie@qwest.net). It is a white
Fender Bass with the serial number 0071. Here is a picture of Kim
playing the instrument in question:
